The Uboontu Foundation has achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the key implementation partner for a pioneering sustainability project at the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, Sawai Madhopur. In collaboration with Bisleri International Pvt. Ltd. and the Forest Department, Government of Rajasthan, the foundation has established India’s first-ever Material Recovery Facility (MRF) within a forest. This groundbreaking initiative aligns with the Swachh Bharat Mission, aiming to promote effective waste management and ecological conservation.

The MRF serves as a beacon of sustainable waste disposal, focusing on raising awareness among visitors, encouraging eco-friendly habits, and protecting the pristine ecosystem of Ranthambore. By tackling the critical issue of plastic waste and facilitating efficient recycling, the facility sets a new national benchmark for conservation-driven waste management. Its operations not only contribute to cleaner environments but also enhance the overall visitor experience by emphasizing responsible tourism.

The inauguration of the MRF was a significant event, graced by notable dignitaries. Shri Anoop K.R., IFS, Chief Conservator of Forest, and Smt. Shubham Chaudhary, IAS, District Collector of Sawai Madhopur, led the ceremony. Shri K. Ganesh, Director of Sustainability & Corporate Affairs, and Dr. R. Bhakar, IFS, Deputy Conservator of Forest, were also present alongside Shri Manoj Kushwah, Director of Uboontu Foundation. Local representatives, including Shri Rajendra Mali, Sarpanch of Khilchipur; Shri Om Saini, Sarpanch of Sherpur; Shri Shahid Ali, Sarpanch of Khatipura; and Shri Buddi Prakash, Sarpanch of Himmatpura, added their support to this transformative initiative.

This innovative project stands as a testament to Uboontu Foundation’s commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. By addressing the growing challenge of waste management within protected wildlife zones, the foundation has set a powerful precedent for integrating conservation and eco-conscious practices. The initiative also highlights the importance of collaboration between the private sector, government bodies, and non-profit organizations to achieve impactful environmental outcomes.

Through this initiative, the Uboontu Foundation not only contributes to safeguarding the biodiversity of one of India’s most treasured wildlife sanctuaries but also paves the way for future eco-conscious efforts across the nation. The MRF at Ranthambore is a shining example of how innovation and collective action can drive meaningful change in environmental conservation.
